Is Pediatric Chiropractic Safe for Kids?
If you are new to pediatric chiropractic, it makes sense to want to know if it is actually safe before you book a visit for your child. It is one of the most common questions parents ask us, and it deserves a real answer.
Pediatric chiropractic care is gentle, specific, and nothing like what most people picture when they think of an adult adjustment. There is no twisting, cracking, or forceful pressure involved. The amount of force used on an infant is roughly the same as testing the ripeness of a tomato, just enough to encourage movement in a joint that is not moving the way it should. For toddlers and older kids, the technique adjusts slightly but stays just as gentle.
Dr. G has completed over 1,000 hours of specialized training in pediatric and prenatal chiropractic care, on top of his standard chiropractic education. That additional training matters. A child’s spine and nervous system are still developing, and care for a newborn looks completely different from care for a teenager. Providers without that specific training are working outside what they actually know.
Before any adjustment, every child gets a full CLA INSiGHT scan. This gives us an objective, technology-based look at how your child’s nervous system is functioning, so we are never guessing or adjusting just because it is part of a routine. If the scan does not show a reason to adjust, we do not adjust. That is what neurologically-focused care actually means.
Many of the families we see come to us for specific concerns like colic, reflux, ear infections, tongue tie, torticollis, or trouble with focus and sensory processing. Others come simply because they want their child’s nervous system checked and supported as part of normal, whole-body health care, the same way you would take care of your child’s teeth or eyes.
If you have questions about whether chiropractic care is right for your child, we would rather you ask than wonder. Schedule a consultation and CLA INSiGHT scan today, and see exactly what is going on before any decision is made.
